Conflict Management Instructor Training

This is a 1-day course for instructors who wish to deliver conflict management training.  Physical restraint and techniques are not covered in this programme.

The course objectives are:

Recognise the need to be trained in Conflict Management (Jar-ops, Tokyo
Convention and Air Navigation and Transport Act)

Discuss facts and figures on the extent of 'air rage'.

Identify behaviors that may trigger aggressive or difficult behavior.

Illustrate the reasons why someone gets aggressive.

Recognise a pattern that disruptive incidents generally follow.

Be aware of the biological changes that occur in the body when a situation is perceived as a threat.

Recognise dangers signs in an aggressive passenger.

Learn an action plan to follow when dealing with a disruptive passenger.

Learn a breathing technique to control emotions.

Know how to send the 'right messages' to your disruptive passenger. (Video)

Review effective communication

Be able to cope after an incident.

Be familiar with the Disruptive / Unruly Passenger Report Form.

Have a knowledge of police procedures and the information needed to assist in arrest and prosecution.
